I started writing biographies of top richest personalities of the world including Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Mark Zuckerberg and so on.. a year ago. Popular New York based american business magazine, Forbes has listed topmost billionaires some days ago.  At 1342th position in the list, name of successful Nepalese businessman /entrepreneur was also entitled. The name was not other than Binod Kumar Chaudhary, former member of constituent assembly of Nepal.  By then, he is the first person to be listed in world’s billionaire list from landlocked country Nepal.

Regarding his source of income, Forbes magazine in its video stated that chunk of his wealth is from his partnership with Taj Hotel, India for luxury resorts as well as  his assets in overseas. Forbes also estimated his wealth to be $1 billion.

At the mean time, i was also following him in twitter and was eagerly waiting to read his first reaction after this huge success in his entrepreneurial journey. Via twitter he said, “This would be incomplete without the effort of all members of CG Family. Overwhelming reception at CG House. Beginning of a new journey.”

I tried to write a short biography about Mr.Chaudhary including his personality, work, and recognition.

He has shared his life story with people through his Autobiography “Atmakatha”. The book ‘Atmakatha’  Written by Chaudhary, in collaboration with writer Sudeep Shrestha, was released on February 2 by Nepalaya and distributed by Educational Book House. I’ve also got an softcopy version of his book in which he has openly written about his experiences and issues related to Nepali business and politics. He portrait his modest childhood days, taking the readers to a flash back of Kathmandu 50 years ago.

Chaudhary not only became first billionaire of Nepal but his recognition is valuable for country’s status in corporate world as well. He located Nepal on the business map of the world. He hasn’t make his journey from waiwai to Forbes overnight. He saw dream about 40 years ago and never gave up. He is one of the inspiration to all of Nepalese people to dream and work hard to make it happen. His Atmakatha is one of my favorite success story, ever read !!  Hats off to him.
